My interest in photography goes way back to when I was a kid. On family vacations I was the only one who would actually remember to bring a camera along. I had my little point and shoot Canon camera out constantly, taking what I thought at the time were really cool pictures. As a result I now have boxes full of pictures that take more than a little time to decipher what the subject and purpose originally was.

I still shoot Canon cameras, but now they are on the professional level. My passion still remains the same as when I was a kid. I love taking photographs! I still take that camera along on vacations and photograph whatever strikes my fancy. But I also have made the decision to make photography my life's career. I specialize in location portraiture, but also have experience in commercial illustration, landscape, fashion, and pursue an ongoing interpretation of my personal view of the world.... my artwork.

My specialty of location portraiture stems from a love of capturing human expression. It amazes me that we all are so alike, yet so different. It is a fascinating study to try and capture those moments of expression that set us apart from one another. My portraits are about simple and beautiful captured moments. I try to capture natural expressions of people interacting with their surrounding world. I work digitally to provide myself with more flexibility and spontaneity to capture those moments.

Through my pictures, I hope to create a treasured memory that stops a bit of time for every person I work with. I don’t put a time limit on my sessions because my goal is to spend the time needed to capture the essence of the image's subject. I love natural light and try to work with that whenever possible, but also work with a portable studio lighting setup for the times that mother nature is feeling obstinate. My studio lit portraits are very simple and most times look great in black and white due to that fact.

Now for a few more casual details about myself! I am an avid outdoors-woman, with skills in rock climbing, mountain biking, running, and pretty much everything else involving the outdoors. You name it and I will try it.... at least once. I love healthy food, good books, great coffee and rainy days! I recently moved to Oahu, Hawaii and am enjoying the new sights and opportunities that it has to offer!
